Sharon Knapp, PhD, CSA®, is the Principal of The SAGE Team at COMPASS and a proud member of Compass Plus, specializing in guiding seniors and their families through the complex journey of aging-in-place, decluttering, downsizing/rightsizing, and exploring senior living options. With a compassionate approach and a commitment to personalized solutions, Sharon helps her clients make confident, informed decisions about finding the right home at the right time—ensuring it supports their evolving needs and promotes healthy, vibrant aging.
Backed by over 30 years of professional experience, Sharon’s diverse career spans serving seniors in real estate, conducting research, and teaching nutrition and epidemiology at esteemed colleges and universities. She has also consulted with nonprofit organizations on fundraising, strategic planning, and program evaluation, showcasing her multifaceted expertise.
Sharon holds a B.S. in Chemistry, Food and Nutrition from Rutgers University, an M.S. in Nutrition from The Pennsylvania State University, and a Ph.D. in Epidemiology from the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public Health. Her extensive credentials include certifications as a Certified Senior Advisor (CSA®), Senior Home Coach™, Certified Dana K. White Speed of Life® Decluttering Coach, Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist, and membership in the National Aging in Place Council®. These qualifications, combined with her advanced academic background, uniquely position Sharon to bridge the connection between physical well-being, lifestyle, and housing decisions for seniors.
