Lizi Cruz has called Charlotte, NC home for more than 20 years and brings a unique combination of real estate experience, financial expertise, and a personal understanding of the needs of older adults and their families to her work.

A Certified Senior Advisor (CSA)® and member of Compass Plus, Lizi has a special interest in helping older adults and their families navigate the housing decisions that often accompany a new stage of life. Whether that means downsizing from a longtime home, moving closer to family, relocating to a more manageable or supportive living environment, or simply exploring options for the future, Lizi approaches each situation with empathy, patience, and respect.

Her interest in serving older adults is deeply personal. Lizi feels fortunate that her parents lived into their 90s. As their needs changed with age, she gained firsthand insight into the decisions and challenges that can arise—not only for older adults themselves, but for the entire family. Living more than 750 miles from her parents also gave her a particular appreciation for the challenges adult children may face when trying to support aging parents from a distance. That experience ultimately inspired her to deepen her knowledge through the Certified Senior Advisor designation and to make serving older adults and their families an important part of her real estate practice.

Lizi enjoys working with buyers and sellers at every stage of life—from first-time homebuyers and growing families to empty nesters and clients relocating to or from the Carolinas. She understands that a real estate transition is rarely just about the house. For clients later in life, a move may involve decades of memories, family considerations, financial decisions, downsizing belongings, and coordinating numerous details and resources. Her goal is to help make that process feel more manageable and less overwhelming.

A graduate of the University of Florida, Lizi began her career in accounting and earned her CPA. During her years as a stay-at-home mom, she continued consulting with clients and providing financial services. That background gives her a strong foundation in analysis, organization, problem-solving, and attention to detail—skills that transitioned naturally into her real estate career.

More importantly, Lizi understands that buying or selling a home is deeply personal. She is known for guiding clients through even complicated transactions with clarity, patience, and care, making sure they feel informed and supported throughout the process.

Originally from Florida and with strong ties to Miami, Lizi is a proud wife and mom to three adult children. She and her husband, Orlando, are now empty nesters themselves and are embracing this next chapter with plenty of travel, time with family and friends, and adventures with Poppie, their 75-pound Catahoula–Pit mix and beloved “foster fail.”

Outside of real estate, Lizi loves discovering restaurants, breweries, concerts, and outdoor destinations around the Greater Charlotte area, visiting her children throughout South Carolina, traveling to the North Carolina mountains, and returning to Florida to spend time with extended family and friends. She also volunteers with a local organization that provides long-term support and material assistance to pregnant women in need. Lizi is fluent in Spanish.
