Kellie Ackerman Portrait

“I don’t just help seniors move - I help families navigate one of the most emotionally and logistically complex transitions of their lives, with someone who has walked every step of that road herself.”

What sets Kellie apart in the world of senior real estate isn't a single credential - it's a rare convergence of clinical expertise, personal experience, and professional excellence that simply doesn't exist anywhere else in this market.

Before joining Compass as a licensed real estate agent, Kellie spent years as an Occupational Therapist specializing in geriatric care. In that role, she developed a clinical eye for how physical environments affect the safety, independence, and dignity of older adults - evaluating homes for fall risk, mobility challenges, cognitive accessibility, and the often-overlooked intersection of health and living space.

Today, Kellie holds her Certified Senior Advisor (CSA)® designation alongside her real estate license, making her one of the very few agents in this market who combines formal credentials in both real estate and aging care. But credentials alone don't tell the whole story.

The chapter that defines her most deeply is personal. When her own parents began the difficult journey through dementia and Alzheimer's disease, Kellie stepped into every role the situation demanded: primary caregiver, care coordinator, long-distance mover, real estate manager, and trustee of their estate. She navigated the sleepless nights, the impossible decisions, the grief of watching someone you love change, and she handled the real estate transactions and legal complexity alongside all of it.

That experience gave her something no classroom can teach: she knows what families are going through, not just professionally, but personally. She knows the fear, the exhaustion, the love, and the fierce desire to get it right for the person who spent a lifetime getting it right for you.

Today, Kellie brings all of this to her clients at Compass. Offering a level of advocacy, insight, and compassion that transforms a real estate transaction into a supported life transition. Whether she is guiding a senior through downsizing from a beloved family home, helping adult children navigate a parent's move to assisted living, or working with trustees to manage estate real estate, she approaches every engagement as the trusted guide she would have wanted by her own family's side.

For Kellie, this work isn’t just about a real estate transaction. It’s about dignity, people, purpose, and the next chapter ahead.
