Brenda Mejia Portrait

Brenda has been proud to call the Washington, D.C. area home for more than 25 years. This vibrant, dynamic, and ever-changing city can sometimes be difficult for newcomers, and even locals, to navigate. Brenda strives to provide personalized service to her clients. Every buyer, seller and investor is unique, and her goal is to make each transaction as stress-free and pleasant as possible.

I’ve always had an affinity for seniors and am so excited to be part of Compass Plus! The first job I ever had, at age 16, was as a nurse’s aide in a skilled nursing facility in my hometown of Rochester NY. I thought I would pursue a career in healthcare, but my life took a different turn, and I ended up studying graphic design. That led to a 25-year career in various capacities in the publishing industry in San Diego CA, Charleston SC, and Washington DC. I also raised two children during this time.

I became a real estate investor while a staff member at the World Bank Group. When they offered me an early retirement package, I jumped at the chance to start a new career as a full-time real estate professional. It’s been an adventure, and after nine years in the business, I still learn something new every day.

In my spare time, I love to ski, hike, kayak, and curl (that funny sport played on ice with rocks and brooms). I give back to the community as a board member and volunteer of East Creek Village, a non-profit dedicated to helping seniors age in place, and as a consistent Red Cross blood donor - 13 gallons so far! I encourage everyone who is eligible to donate blood on a regular basis.

If you need real estate advice for yourself or a senior in your family or community, I’d love to help! There are many factors to consider, and there’s no one-size-fits-all solution. Please give me a call today!
