Arthur Dunning Portrait

Since 2007, it has been my privilege to help clients navigate the Washington DC real estate market. Over the last few years, I’ve noticed a shift: many of my clients are facing the complex, emotional transition of moving from a long-time family home into senior housing.

This is a journey I know personally. Having managed the transition for my own parents and in-laws into independent living, then assisted living, and now memory care, I understand that it is never just about "selling a house." It is about downsizing decades of memories, coordinating logistics, and finding the right place for the next chapter.

Because of these experiences, I have taken two major steps to better advocate for my clients and their families:

  • Certified Senior Advisor ® Designation: I have officially earned the CSA® credential. This means I have undergone specialized training in the health, financial, and social issues that matter most to seniors. I am now uniquely equipped to act as a resource, not just a Realtor®.
  • Compass Plus: I have joined Compass Plus, a specialized division at Compass dedicated to senior transitions. Through this program, I can offer my clients exclusive resources like Compass Concierge—which can fund home repairs or decluttering upfront—and a vetted network of move managers and estate attorneys.

Whether you are starting to think about "right-sizing" your own life or are helping a parent navigate their next move, I am here to be your guide. I’ve been in your shoes, and I’m now more prepared than ever to help you walk the path.
